Summary:Updated and Improved in less than a week
version 1.001 is already out of date and 1.002 has superseeded it. This will most likely be my last release for a few months as i'm not available to break SE over the summer.

Anyhow this release allows for hosting of the game on a computer that doesn't have the mysql server on it (such as sourceforge), as well as some important bug fixes, and a dynamic pricing system for fuel and metal.

Also, i actually found a program on this here computer that lets me play with the stuff on our sf account without knowing how to use ssh/ssc ... basically se.com should be up soon, or it would be today if the peeps at sf.net replied to my support request the same day.

Anyhow if se.com isn't up tomorow, then it most likely won't be up until september. Unless Bryan figures out how to use crontab and readfile on this here server before then.

Summary:Version 1.001
I have taken it upon myself to release another version of the code this time with the number 1.001, which basically means the initial carnation of SE is now complete (i.e. all the basics are in place).

No sign of se.com coming up any time soon. Am still waiting on Bryan for that one.

And CVS hasn't been updated for a while. Primarily because it doesn't seen to be working for me any more.

Summary:SE.com
Well it seems SE.com is staying down to a while longer, primarily because i have no idea how to mess with DB's at sourceforge.

Anyhow 009 has been released, though it could well have been 0.1.0 considering the vast improvements made. This one has many, many bug fixes, and has been converted from .php3 to plain .php.

Summary:Site down - wolfden still up - release 0.007
Right. Well The SE main server is down, and will stay down till these nice people at SourceForge (SF) get around to making us a nice little database.

Till then the following games are working:

Development games:
http://wolfden.solarempire.com/moriarty/se/ - Two games here. One for developing, the other is just a bit more normal.

http://wolfden.solarempire.com/neo/se/ - One game here. just for developing at present.

http://www.kilercris.cjb.net - One game here for playing. At present it seems to be down, probably cos kilercris's comp can't handle it all :).

Note that the two dev servers don't have working maps at present, for what reason i don't know (they just don't wanna work).

Also, am about to upload version 0.007. this incorporates many changes, mainly by me in think. These include random events. no working star maps (but that'll change shortly i hope)... change of plan.... release 007 is put of cos i can't get the darn thing to work :) ... so i'll let Bryan do it later today, or some other admin who can get it to work.

007 will be up shortly i hope (later today at least)

Summary:Main SE site will go down. Use the mailing lists.
I've setup some mailing lists now. Please subscribe to them to keep posted. Mainly solar-empire-developer will be used. The forums here on SF will be going away.

I've decided that the games running on the main server will end this comming weekend. I'll try to get a server setup for production on SF but no guarentees. This new main server will be kept in rough sync with what's in CVS.

Summary:CVS is working. Main server will move to it.
Now that CVS is working it should be used to submit all the changes. If you need help setting it up feel free to ask me.

I'm thinking the main se server will be switching over sometime in the next week. It will be kept running with whatever is in CVS and probably updated once a week or so.

Summary:The less broken release
New release out. Less broken on it and lots of stuff fixed on it.

Also a bit smaller because I deleted a bunch of old map images.

Summary:The broken release
This version is very broken. Only the login_form and the new_game.pl program works.

It's a very good start on the single database ussage problem.

Summary:Waiting for CVS
To get the all important CVS and shell access we are waiting on the hard working sourceforge crew to get the LDAP authorization working on all their servers. Not an easy task. I don't envy them. It might still be a couple days before we are go on that. Until then if you have some good changes to make send them in as patch files (made with diff).

Thanks. Bryan.

I removed about 1.5 megs of junk out of the inital release and made a new smaller zip file.
