CharlesRector: Correct me if I'm wrong,, but didn't youlead a HF allaiace in SM Newbie Game #6?AnarchyOfCaz: Perhaps.AnarchyOfCaz: why?CharlesRector: well, I have to write a history about HF's involvement in SM for the new BBG Realm website.AnarchyOfCaz: YeahAnarchyOfCaz: Well you know, I have no idea what games I played in SM.AnarchyOfCaz: if you remember something, then you are probably right :)CharlesRector: How well did you guys do in that game? I seem to remember that it was you, Hammes & Yoden with you getting 10 kills & Hammes getting 9 kills.AnarchyOfCaz: ManAnarchyOfCaz: You seriously remember that?!?AnarchyOfCaz: I have no clueAnarchyOfCaz: It's been a LONG long timeCharlesRector: from the HF Forum & I was in that game too, though as an independent palyer & later with the BHMG.AnarchyOfCaz: yeahAnarchyOfCaz: But I mean..AnarchyOfCaz: This is MY stats lolCharlesRector: Take it that you've played in so many games, that you can't keep track of all them?AnarchyOfCaz: And you know them a lot better than I do :)AnarchyOfCaz: heh, yeah I guess...AnarchyOfCaz: 2 years of Yap has cleared my brain. :)AnarchyOfCaz: I actually dont remember any of my SM games really..AnarchyOfCaz: I mean, vaguely, yesAnarchyOfCaz: But I dont remember any statsCharlesRector: Not even being President of the Thevian Council in NG #10?AnarchyOfCaz: Wouldnt have remembered if you didnt mention it :)AnarchyOfCaz: Now that you mention it..AnarchyOfCaz: Yes, I recall being president.AnarchyOfCaz: I wouldnt have known what game it was in though.CharlesRector: I have notebooks still from playing SM way back in the early newbie games.AnarchyOfCaz: YeahAnarchyOfCaz: I recently deleted my SM files..AnarchyOfCaz: I kept word files of everything...CharlesRector: did they help in the creation of Yap?AnarchyOfCaz: My SM files??CharlesRector: yesAnarchyOfCaz: No..AnarchyOfCaz: All I meant by my SM files was like locations of ports and stuffCharlesRector: okAnarchyOfCaz: I had every good port, every route I used, every shop, every warpCharlesRector: I can imagine.CharlesRector: What happened to Hammes?AnarchyOfCaz: dunnoAnarchyOfCaz: He kinda faded awayAnarchyOfCaz: I still see him once in a whileCharlesRector: Didn't you say once that he was a cousin who was in in some kind of foster care situation?AnarchyOfCaz: And the weapons, in no real order.. AnarchyOfCaz: No ideaAnarchyOfCaz: Its not labled :(AnarchyOfCaz: Probably one of my firstAnarchyOfCaz: Thats a pretty incomplete weapons list CharlesRector: is he still a gamer?AnarchyOfCaz: NoAnarchyOfCaz: "ATTENTION: NEWBIES AND OLDBIES(but mostly newbies)... House Forsaken is now recruiting again, finally.. House Forsaken is probably the most mature clan on the net. We have over 100 members, probably close to 150, and we play a variety of games, from Starcraft to Tribes to Diablo II to Solar Empire. At one time, House Forsaken was the dominating force in SE. We had multiple Original victories and ousted Talk House many times. However, our Solar Empire section has been dwindling lately, mainly because a lot of the SE players have devoted their time to DiabloII and other games. If you'd like to check out our website, it's at www.clan-forsaken.com. Don't try the Solar Empire link, it's a crappy page many months old that has no purpose. Instead, check out the Forsaken Forums at www.clan-forsaken.com/forum. The BrowserBasedGames section is where you'd find SE. If you want to join, message me or post on our forum. Thank you, -PresBMK, Head of Recruiting BBG Section"AnarchyOfCaz: Just digging up some old stuff for you :)AnarchyOfCaz: Port 2323 Sells Luxury Port 2247 Buys Luxury If those are used, try: 2346 Sells Luxury 2408 Buys LuxuryAnarchyOfCaz: That is my trade route from NG11CharlesRector: I thought that back then HF had over 400 members. there, you say 100-150AnarchyOfCaz: NoAnarchyOfCaz: I dont think HF ever had 400...AnarchyOfCaz: 400 total maybeAnarchyOfCaz: Not 400 active.CharlesRector: why were you kicked out of HF? I seem to rember a dispute with Pinkus over HF's involvement in Yap or something like that.AnarchyOfCaz: NahAnarchyOfCaz: Me and pinkus just got pissed at each other.AnarchyOfCaz: he felt that something I said was immature. I disagreed, and let him know that.AnarchyOfCaz: He didn't like that because I questioned his authority, so he kicked me out.CharlesRector: seems kind of immature on his part.AnarchyOfCaz: By that time, I was barely even doing anything in HFAnarchyOfCaz: Yeah..AnarchyOfCaz: WellAnarchyOfCaz: I regret what I saidAnarchyOfCaz: And he later expressed regret to kicking me out.AnarchyOfCaz: And actually, I am now on the HF forums..AnarchyOfCaz: Because the forums changed sometime, and somehow I got an account created for myself(I didnt make one, it was just there)CharlesRector: you are? under what name?AnarchyOfCaz: PresBMKAnarchyOfCaz: Search for posts by me.AnarchyOfCaz: I havent been there recently.. AnarchyOfCaz: But, like a couple months ago.AnarchyOfCaz: maybe more.CharlesRector: The only ones I found were from last year. When they set up the new forum setup, they lost a lot of the BBG Relam's msg's.AnarchyOfCaz: YeahAnarchyOfCaz: The ones from last year were prob the ones I'm thinking ofAnarchyOfCaz: Time goes so fastCharlesRector: How is Yap coming? About how many palyers? AnarchyOfCaz: well..AnarchyOfCaz: We've passed up SE's old highs in traffic..AnarchyOfCaz: Hang on I'll find you a stats linkAnarchyOfCaz: We recently changed servers, I dont know if you were aware of that or notCharlesRector: even without a CoolText link?AnarchyOfCaz: What do you mean?CharlesRector: I was aware, that there was a problem switching over to a new server.AnarchyOfCaz: ...AnarchyOfCaz: There was no problem at all ?AnarchyOfCaz: The game was down for a short time..AnarchyOfCaz: But, I mean, that is to be expected.CharlesRector: Remmber, a lot of SE's players came from the CoolText link.AnarchyOfCaz: It was all up within a day of when I got the new server signed up forCharlesRector: the link from CioolText to SE.AnarchyOfCaz: oh, yeah.AnarchyOfCaz: Yap doesnt have something like that.AnarchyOfCaz: Most of yap's players come from referrals from friends and such and from free stuff sites.AnarchyOfCaz: Mostly the same things you submitted to 2 years ago for me. Thank you again, by the wayCharlesRector: Something interesting:CharlesRector: http://www.sudftw.com/paintcam.htmAnarchyOfCaz: http://www.yapquest.com/webstat/AnarchyOfCaz: The June statistics are irrelevant btwAnarchyOfCaz: because that was the first month the server was upCharlesRector: ok it was that the server was causing the game problems & the hosts were refusing to fix them.AnarchyOfCaz: YeahAnarchyOfCaz: So we switched servers. Simple as that.AnarchyOfCaz: New server seems to be much better, too...AnarchyOfCaz: We've only had a database error once, or maybe twice..AnarchyOfCaz: And I can fix them easily now, I dont have to wait for tech guys to do it, I have access on my server to do it myself(which makes sense)CharlesRector: great.CharlesRector: How amny p;a;yers came from MPOGD?AnarchyOfCaz: not sureAnarchyOfCaz: I dont keep track anymore.AnarchyOfCaz: A decent amount.AnarchyOfCaz: Little compared to other sources of traffic though.AnarchyOfCaz: btw that paint peeling site is hillariousCharlesRector: YOu knew that DF deep-sixed Poseidon didn't you?AnarchyOfCaz: umAnarchyOfCaz: no actuallyCharlesRector: well,, that was a messed up game project anyways. didn't keep it running and fixing problems along the way & he also tried to impose a Earth type game on an underwater scenario.AnarchyOfCaz: YeahAnarchyOfCaz: I saw that it went up and down a lot..AnarchyOfCaz: Seemed like it was always down to be revamped.CharlesRector: didn't help it keep players any.AnarchyOfCaz: noAnarchyOfCaz: I dont see how somebody could stay interestedAnarchyOfCaz: ah wellAnarchyOfCaz: maybe I'll recruit him for my new projectAnarchyOfCaz: I'm going to work on making a program in DirectX.CharlesRector: a new game?AnarchyOfCaz: YeahAnarchyOfCaz: Quest for Yap: Ground WarsAnarchyOfCaz: I was originally going to do it in PHP, it was really weird...AnarchyOfCaz: But I decided that it'd be better to learn something new.AnarchyOfCaz: It probably wont be as cool as it has the potential to be..CharlesRector: a download game?AnarchyOfCaz: Mostly because I have no clue how I'll get good graphics for it, I cant do graphics myself at all.AnarchyOfCaz: Yeah.AnarchyOfCaz: It'll be mainly a Peer to Peer game.AnarchyOfCaz: But someday I'll set up a super server for it and run massively multiplayer games.CharlesRector: How has this Melee game gone over?AnarchyOfCaz: Very well.AnarchyOfCaz: It isnt as popular as original, and its a bit tougher to learnCharlesRector: about how many players in it>AnarchyOfCaz: But the people who know how to play it love it.AnarchyOfCaz: Um...AnarchyOfCaz: Not sure.AnarchyOfCaz: Last game about 15-20 people played seriously.CharlesRector: About how many sectors in the game?AnarchyOfCaz: UmAnarchyOfCaz: 200 I thinkCharlesRector: pretty good size. Have you noticed how in SE, its been made a lot easier for major clans & early starters to enegage in risk-free killing?AnarchyOfCaz: No.AnarchyOfCaz: lolAnarchyOfCaz: I havent been to SE for a long time :)CharlesRector: Somethig I recently posted:CharlesRector: Krioni: This is a game where there are 75 turns & 100 shields generated per hour. You basically have pain-free, risk-free killing here. These stats, plus a ship called the Transversor, guarantees that if you have entered the game early and/or have a strong, experienced clan behind you, that you will have pain-free, risk-free killing sprees here. No more chance of being stuck high & dry without turns or having your ship's shields being so whittled down for hours on end after the attack that they would be vulnerable to attack. And no more having to make the long haul to Earth aka Sector #1, subject to attack along the way there & back either. SE has lost a lot of what challenge it had & with it, the suspense & need for careful planning & strategizing that once made it one of the most interesting, not to mention fun games around.AnarchyOfCaz: yeahAnarchyOfCaz: I keep yap interesting by consistantly adding new featuresAnarchyOfCaz: And trying to balance the old ones.AnarchyOfCaz: One of my latest victories is making Port Trading worth it again.AnarchyOfCaz: For a long time, the only way to trade was to trade Yap.AnarchyOfCaz: Now you can trade other goods and make as much or more profitCharlesRector: great.AnarchyOfCaz: My next challenge is planetsCharlesRector: about how many sectors in Origianl>AnarchyOfCaz: They used to be all powerful. Now they suck.AnarchyOfCaz: UmAnarchyOfCaz: Not sureAnarchyOfCaz: 125 maybe?AnarchyOfCaz: Thats just in the main galaxy though.. AnarchyOfCaz: Yap and Evil galaxies have another 75 sectors each or so.CharlesRector: decent....the latest Modern SE game has 600 sectos but only 60 players. Bad idea.AnarchyOfCaz: The size of the Original game hasnt changed much in a while.AnarchyOfCaz: I like it the size it is.AnarchyOfCaz: YeahAnarchyOfCaz: In Yap, except for in Melee, most of the space is wasted anyways.AnarchyOfCaz: But its ok.AnarchyOfCaz: Because a sneaky player can still use itAnarchyOfCaz: its good that wayCharlesRector: yesCharlesRector: What did you eman earlier by a Peer to Peer game?CharlesRector: meanAnarchyOfCaz: umAnarchyOfCaz: Like..AnarchyOfCaz: Person A connects to Person B and they play.CharlesRector: okAnarchyOfCaz: Its Peer to Peer, because there is no server in between..CharlesRector: your verson of Infantry?AnarchyOfCaz: One guy sets up to "answer" a call, and the other person connects to their IPAnarchyOfCaz: UmAnarchyOfCaz: Sorta.AnarchyOfCaz: Think Infantry meets a RTS game like C&C or AoEAnarchyOfCaz: Well, I'm going to bed now.AnarchyOfCaz: It's been a long day lol.AnarchyOfCaz: Hope to talk to you sometime soon.CharlesRector: ok...same here.CharlesRector: bye
