| Ok, I've had to introduce an extra part to the site to conform with EU Cookie Law. As such you will need to consent to the use of Cookies being used BEFORE you are able to login to the site. There is an orange triangle on the home page that deals with this. In Firefox and Chrome this is displayed in the bottom right hand corner, however Internet Explorer has managed to place it incorrectly in the top left (not much I can do about it at the moment). | Ok, so as you are all obviously aware Imperial went down a couple of days ago and then it didnt work properly anyways. Basically, the server its hosted on had both discs in its RAID array fail at the same time taking us offline completely. The server has subsequently been rebuilt but using different settings such that the existing code had been rendered useless. Ive introduced a very very bad patch to try and get it running for now but be aware of bugs. I'll try and get the site patched up properly when I can. | |

| Apparently I might have slipped on this one but it does effect some of you, but mostly me. The EU, in all its glory, has decided to basically make using Cookies without a users permission illegal except for strictly necessary purposes (which arent defined). As such I've updated the Terms and Conditions (see the link on the front page, or in the Help section in-game) to reflect this and kind of add a little disclaimer and explanation. If you have an issue with Imperial using Cookies, dont use it. I have no means (or intention) to rewrite the entire site to remove its reliance on them, so as far as im concerned, they are strictly necessary ;) | |

| Its come to my attention that with the growth of the server recently that its becoming significantly harder to maintain especially with so many things that im constantly required to do. Most of this comes from having to settle disputes, sort out bugs that have given an unfair advantage in a game and this is mostly just the tip of the ice berg. Its now getting to the point where I am seriously considering shutting down parts of the site until things get sorted and are easier to manage. I should probably note that its not the actual bug fixing thats the problem, its those that choose to exploit them for personal gain. Thats not what this site is about. From now on, anyone caught exploiting bugs or for that matter breaking any Server Rule will be banned. Depending on the infraction, the bans will last anywhere from a couple of hours to permenantly. The Server Rules I reserve the right to revise and change as I see fit, whenever I see fit - these are available from the "Terms" link on the front page and something you all agreed to when signing up. There will no longer be any inquiries into disputes other than the determination of whether Server Rules were broken. If so, any involved party that has in my interpretation not conducted themselves in accordance with the rules will be banned. No explanations, second chances etc, you will be banned. If the matter does not involve Server Rules, the determination of events will the authority of the Admin for the game affected and not myself. If you are unfamiliar with the Server Rules, I suggest you take the time to review them. They will also be included in the Help section of every game for future reference. These news posts will also now appear in the Server News section in all games. | |

| Looks like the server went down for a bit there, not quite sure what happened but it was nothing to do with me. As soon as I found out (about 20 mins ago) I contacted the server owner (handy that I know him personally) and everything seems to be back in working order. I havent been given any information on what was wrong but at least were up and running again. Dont worry, im not giving up on SE that easily :P | |

| I was just flicking through some of the status reports that the server can generate for bandwidth, visits etc and thought id share a few of them to show how much of an effect you have all had over the past few months. Approximately 6 months ago in June 2010, Imperial managed transfered 179.55 MB of data and received around8,000 Hits. Now if those figures mean next to nothing to you, lets compare them to those of January 2011 at which point a large volume of players have appeared and come to stay to whom I thank. The site managed to transfer a record breaking (for me at least) 4,065.28 MB of data and around 240,000 Hits. Thats a 3,000%increase and despite these all being statistics it just shows how much of change the server has gone through and I thank you all for being a part of it and making the server into what it is now :) | |
